£2m transformation starts at Clayton Square

Land Securities has started work on its £2m transformation of Clayton Square in Liverpool city centre.

It marks the next phase in the developer's long-term plans for the redevelopment of St John's shopping centre located nearby.

Land Securities plans include a 24,000 sq ft flagship JJB sports store, which will relocate from its current location in Williamson Square. St John's Market will then be relocated to JJB's existing site.

As part of the refurbishment, the Zavvi and Game stores will undergo improvements, while the former public house fronting Great Charlotte Street will also be re-configured to form two retail units bringing new brands to Liverpool.

Redevelopment at Clayton Square is anticipated to be completed by spring next year.
