Myerson Solicitors announces promotions

The Altrincham-based legal firm has promoted two key figures, Sarah Cowen and Karen Taylor.

Sarah Cowen has been appointed as a partner in the commercial property team.

She was a senior associate at Gateley Legal before moving to Myerson Solicitors in 2022.

Cowen has 17 years of experience in commercial property matters, particularly with acquisitions and sales, asset management, leases, and secured lending.

On her appointment she said: “Becoming a Partner at Myerson is an honour.

“I’m looking forward to building on the strong client relationships we’ve developed and contributing to the continuing growth of the business.

“With the firm’s recent transition to employee ownership, there’s a real sense of shared purpose, and I’m excited about the future we are building together.”

Cowen will work from Myerson’s Altrincham office, along with Myerson’s 150 employees.

Karen Taylor has been appointed legal director in Myerson’s property litigation team.

Taylor joined Myerson in 2021, moving from Slater Heelis where she was an associate solicitor.

Before her promotion, Taylor was a senior associate at Myerson for over three years.

Taylor said: “I’m delighted to be promoted to Legal Director at Myerson.

“Myerson combines a supportive working environment with fantastic work and opportunities, and I’m excited to contribute to the firm’s continued success in this new role.”

Taylor specialises in commercial property management and lease disputes, as well as property development issues.

She will also work out of Myerson’s Altrincham office.

James Birch, talent manager at Myerson, said: “It’s exciting to see so many people developing their careers here at Myerson. We truly believe that we offer a supportive, friendly, and meritocratic environment where our junior colleagues can learn and gain valuable experience across our various departments.

“The addition of our new apprentices, trainees and NQ solicitors ensures we are well-positioned to meet our growth ambitions.”

At the beginning of September, the firm announced it would take on two new apprentices and four trainee solicitors.

These promotions are a result of Myerson’s growth, rather than the departure of employees.

Myerson also announced it had become 100% employee-owned via an Employee Ownership Trust.
