Mosaic Hospitality is preparing to open the new Escape Lounge in Terminal 1 at Manchester Airport next week.

Passengers who pay to enter the lounge – £20 for adults or £10 for children under the introductory offer – will get access to complementary food and drink from the deli and such goodies as Wii Nintendo consoles and a Scalextric to help pass the time. There will also be laptops with wi-fi connections and a spa with massages and manicures bookable.

The airport already has an Escape offering in Terminal 2 and hopes to launch a third in Terminal 3 in the future. The new lounge in Terminal 1 will be next to the new Emirates Lounge, which opened in October 2009 and will soon host passengers travelling on the A380. Jet2, Emirates and Lufthansa also fly from T1.

Mosaic is part of RW Bespoke Events based in Ardwick, Cheshire. Its outside catering clients include the University of Manchester and Arley Hall. They also provide corporate hospitality for blue chip companies in the City of London.

Gordon Beech, chairman of Mosaic Hospitality, said: "We've been keen to move into new markets for a long time and the airport was obviously something of real interest to us so when we heard about the new lounge, it was something we wanted to be involved in from the beginning. We believe that our company is uniquely placed to create a product that will provide an important part of the Escape experience and play a critical role in the development of the lounge over the long term. We cannot wait to get started in July."

Andrew Harrison, commercial director for Manchester Airport, said: "We want our passengers to start to enjoy their holiday experience as soon as they step into the Escape Lounge. Mosaic Hospitality are excellent caterers held in high regard right across the North West so we are very pleased to have them on board for the launch in a few weeks time."

The new lounge opens on 1 July.
