Morecambe holiday camp set for overhaul
Pontins’ former Middleton Tower site off Natterjack Lane could be transformed to create 57 homes under plans submitted to Lancaster City Council.
Condy Lofthouse Architects designed the scheme on behalf of an SPV set up by Pontins. The project would deliver 51 three- and six four-bedroom homes across three parcels.
14 homes would be created off Lavender Way and a further 23 homes would be created at Badger Wood. The remaining 20 homes would be delivered off Natterjack Lane.
Plans feature a mix of semi-detached and detached buildings, as well as bungalows, ranging from 1,100 sq ft to 1,900 sq ft.
The six-acre Morecambe site forms part of an abandoned holiday camp. The camp closed down in 1993 and the land has been vacant since.
A total of 121 car parking spaces would be provided. Each home would have access to electric vehicle charging and a cycle space.
JWPC is the scheme’s planning consultant.
Also on the project team are landscape architect Trevor Bridge Associates and transport consultant Vectos.
