Jon Dyson, director of place at Bolton Council, said: “We have a significant track record of securing public sector funding, some £190m in the last five years, to support the vision and mission to deliver development in a previously unviable town.”

The role of the public sector to influence change and to build on the vision to achieve the positive outcomes needed to make the businesses and community proud is vital.

Bolton and NorthFold are now entering an exciting new phase of regeneration with several major projects underway and imminent, including Crompton Place, Hulton Park / Lee Hall, Church Wharf, Moor Lane (phase 2) and Health Innovation Bolton.

This regeneration is backed by a raft of wider supporting policies and initiatives: A new Place Brand, Visitor Economy Strategy, Cultural Strategy, Transport Strategy, Economic Growth and Resilience Plan, Lighting and Wayfinding in the town centre, major events (Food & Drink Festival and IRONMAN), the NorthFold growth location, an Emerging Local Plan, the Greater Manchester Strategy, Good Growth Fund and planned Mayoral Development corporation.
