Miller appoints production director
Rick Smith has joined the homebuilder after 20 years of working at Taylor Wimpey.
Smith began his career as a builder, working his way up to production director of Taylor Wimpey’s Manchester division in 2014.
As production director for the North West at Miller Homes, Smith is charged with helping deliver the company’s newest projects in the region to a high build quality standard.
Current developments include plans for 317 homes in Widnes, 337 houses in Rainford, and 67 homes in Wigan.
Ian Smith, managing director of Miller Homes in the North West, said he was “delighted” by the newest Miller hire.
He said: “With [Rick Smith’s] many years of experience and expertise within the homebuilding industry, he will definitely make a great addition to the North West team and steer us in the right direction as we go from strength to strength!”
For his part, Rick Smith said: “Miller Homes provided a compelling opportunity for me to leave a company where I’ve worked for over 2 decades, I really applaud everything the brand stands for and am looking forward to creating new communities in the North West with my team.”
In addition to Smith, Miller also recruited Annabel Collins, Louise Holmes, and Matthew Birch. Holmes and Collins are development sales managers, while Birch joins the engineering team. Earlier this year, Miller brought on Jonathan Steggles and David Atherton as land director and commercial director for the North West.
While the head office of Miller is based in Edinburgh, the company’s North West office is located at Birchwood Park in Warrington.
