Middleton Shopping Centre up for grabs with £8.5m price tag
After 12 years of ownership, the JV between Westrock and Silver Point that owns the 325,000 sq ft retail complex at the heart of the Rochdale town is seeking an exit.
Asset manager New River REIT, on behalf of the landlord, has appointed Knight Frank to market Middleton Shopping Centre for sale. Bids in excess of £8.485m are being sought. Middleton SC, the JV, acquired the 87-unit scheme out of administration for £13.45 m in 2024, according to Land Registry.
The retail complex is around 93% let to tenants including B&M, Home Bargains, and Club 3000 Bingo. The bingo hall accounts for more than a quarter of overall revenue; its lease was recently extended to 2042.
Overall, Middleton Shopping Centre generates gross revenue of £2.3m a year.
The opportunity may also be of interest to regeneration-minded businesses. The shopping centre sits on a six-acre site at the centre of the 200 acres be governed by the Middleton Mayoral Development Corporation, co-chaired by actor Steve Coogan.
