Midas adds corporate player to sales effort
Inward investment agency Midas has appointed a non-executive director to help reinforce its work with foreign-owned companies in Greater Manchester.
Trevor Millen is a former divisional chief executive of canned food and soft drinks importer Princes Group, part of the Mitsubishi Corporation.
Millen said: "My intention is to build and expand upon [awareness of Manchester] in boardrooms and amongst senior decision makers both in the UK and abroad. I intend to influence the thoughts and plans of chairmen and chief executives considering expansion and or relocation to bring more jobs and investment to the Manchester city region."
Colin Sinclair, chief executive of Midas, said: "We're delighted to have such a respected corporate player on our team. Midas acts as the single point of contact for existing and potential investors and Trevor's international experience and contacts signals our intent on a truly global basis."
Millen moved to the North West in 1996 to join Robert McBride in Middleton as managing director and joined Princes in 1999 where he held several senior positions as divisional chief executive of various parts of the business and as a member of the Princes' Statutory Directors' Supervisory Board.
Midas was advised by John Marsh, managing director of Altrincham-based executive recruitment consultants Robinson Keane.
