McGoff nears completion on £15m Chester care home
Care home developer New Care and main contractor McGoff Construction will hand over their £15m Grosvenor Manor care home in Chester in February next year.
The project on Heath Lane, which has been on site since October 2016, includes 81 bedrooms and will offer residential, nursing, and specialist dementia care services.
External works including roofing and brickwork have now completed allowing McGoff Construction and its subcontractors to begin fit out work.
Street Design Partnership is the architect for the scheme, which was granted planning approval in March 2016. The site has been in the planning and construction process for some time, with its first pre-application discussions taking place in September 2012.
As well as 81 bedrooms, the care home will provide 29 cark parking spaces and landscaped areas for residents.
New Care has opened two care homes in the North West so far this year – Ashlands in Sale, and The Hamptons in Lytham – and also operates sites in Nottinghamshire.
Chris McGoff, chief executive of New Care, said: “It’s less than three months until we open Grosvenor Manor and I am delighted with the progress that is being made on site. Build is advancing into the final stages and the team is already working on the interior so we’re well on track to complete in February 2018.
“We remain committed to improving the standards of care across the UK, and are fully confident that Grosvenor Manor will be a much-welcomed addition to Chester.”
New Care and McGoff Construction are both part of the wider McGoff Group, based in Altrincham.
