McGoff Group consolidates corporate group
The multi-faceted family business has rejigged its structure to form four independent trading groups, separated into asset creation, construction, care homes, and day nurseries.
The McGoff Group’s structure has seen its collection of businesses operate separately over the past 10 years. These firms are Downtown Asset Management, McGoff Construction, Panacea Building Systems, McGoff Group Facilities Services, New Care Group, and Back to the Garden Childcare Group.
Now, these companies will be wrapped into four new entities: McGoff Group Projects, McGoff Construction Services, New Care Group, and Back to the Garden Childcare Group.
The simplification of the company’s corporate and management structures will improve the visibility of the group’s performance, increasing visibility and focus, according to McGoff.
Based in Altrincham, the family office will steer the four new consolidated sub-groups along with corporate finance director Dave Foran.
Even with its new structure, McGoff will continue its track record in forming joint ventures for projects.
Last year, McGoff formed a JV with Patrick Properties to build a mixed-use scheme in Bowdon, transforming the former Mercure Hotel into a care facility, day nursery, townhouses, and apartments.

Here is a breakdown of the business’s new structure:
McGoff Group Projects
Chris and Dave McGoff now head the asset creation branch of the group as chief executive and chairman, respectively. JP Singleton is chief operating officer.
Assets created will be managed by Downtown Asset Management, led by Paul Banks as managing director.
McGoff Construction Services
This branch brings together the contracting and sub-contracting businesses the firm has created: McGoff Construction, Panacea Building Systems, and McGoff Group Facilities Services.
McGoff Construction Services will be led by Dean Johnston as managing director and Declan McGoff as chairman.
New Care Group
The operational care home arm will continue to be led by Dominic Kay as chairman and Chris McGoff as chief executive.
Back to the Garden Childcare Group
Chris McGoff will also lead the company’s day nursery branch as chief executive. Stewart Pickering will manage the operation of the children’s nurseries.
