Matthews & Goodman hires in Liverpool

Property advisor Matthews & Goodman has appointed Jonathan Wright from Venmores and graduate Sandy Ratcliffe to the valuation team in its Liverpool office.

Wright previously worked for M&G between 1989 and 2002. He has 30 years’ property experience providing valuations for property owners and lenders throughout Merseyside and the North West. Prior to two years at Venmores, he worked in the property services department of Cheshire West & Chester Council where he was involved in a wide range of projects including the letting of Newport Business Park in Ellesmere Port and the acquisition of the site of the new Ellesmere Port Depot and Waste Transfer Facility.

Ratcliffe joined Matthews & Goodman’s graduate training programme, having recently graduated from the University of Reading with a degree in real estate. During the two-year programme, he will rotate between the firm’s eight service lines and gain the relevant experience to support his APC qualification, which he is currently working towards.

Chris Weights, partner and head of Matthews & Goodman’s Liverpool office, said: “The appointments of Jonathan and Sandy follow a period of growth for Matthews & Goodman’s valuation service line and will significantly enhance our capabilities, not just in the north but on a national basis.”

There are 22 staff in the firm’s Liverpool office. Valuation clients include Lloyds Bank, RBS and NHS Property Services.
