Matchworks nears fully let as climbing cafe joins line-up

The developer has concluded deals at Matchworks in South Liverpool, including a 11,200 sq ft lease to indoor climbing centre and cafe, Climbing Hangar.

The Climbing Hangar’s move into Matchworks is an expansion from its existing site at Birchall Street.

Further lettings totalling 4,300 sq ft have also been agreed with other occupiers. The building now houses clothing company Twenty Fall, electrical installation business Link Electrical, digital agency We are Web, vape research company Ventus Medical, event company Zeit Associates, and regulation company Inter Regulatory.

The 166,000 sq ft Matchworks is now 93% let, according to Urban Splash.

Urban Splash also recently secured a 2,300 sq ft letting at Old Haymarket to digital and interactive cocktail bar On Point Wine Bar, which will open in 2020.

Ged Mac, the founder of Climbing Hangar, said: “Matchworks provides a great urban setting with an abundance of cool space and all of the benefits of a busy work community; the perfect setting for our new bouldering experience here on Merseyside.”
