Masters leaves GVA due to ill health

Damian Masters, land and development director at GVA, has left the company after a lengthy period of absence due to ill health.

Masters told colleagues in a message circulated at the time of his departure in January, and released by GVA to Place this week: ""After almost 12 years at GVA I have decided to explore new challenges and opportunities. I would like to thank the many colleagues, clients and peers who have offered help, support and guidance over the years. When I joined GVA I never would have thought that I would have achieved all that I have, and I am sure that the Manchester office of GVA will continue to go from strength to strength. Once I have clear direction in which I am going to take my career in, I am sure that I will be in touch."

Among his projects at GVA, Masters advised Greater Manchester Property Venture Fund, part of Greater Manchester Pension Fund, the pension manager for council staff in the 10 GM boroughs, on investment in One St Peter's Square alongside Argent, the new housing investment model for the city region and helped Manchester City Council find alternative premises whilst the Town Hall Extension and Central Library were refurbished.

Greater Manchester Property Venture Fund continues to be handled out of the Manchester office of GVA.

Mark Rawstron, regional senior director at GVA, added: "We'd like to take this opportunity to thank Damian for his hard work and dedication during his 12 years with GVA and we wish him all the very best for the future."

Masters spent four years at Drivers Jonas before joining GVA Grimley in 2002.
