Marsh joins Buttress

Architect Buttress has added to its senior team with the appointment of Chithra Marsh as associate director.

Marsh, who has more than 20 years’ post-qualification experience, has joined the studio from Saunders, where she led the practice’s Manchester office and business development activities.

Her previous experience includes senior roles at Hurd Rolland and 17 years at Broadway Malyan, during which time she helped establish the global practice’s Manchester base. Marsh is a member of the RIBA North West practice and education committee, a mentor for Capital & Centric’s Regeneration Brainery, and is a strategic ambassador for social enterprise Placed.

She is also education roadshow co-ordinator and vice chair of The Association of Women in Property’s North West committee.

At Buttress her remit will focus on delivering the practice’s business development strategy, securing work across new sectors as well as reinforcing the studio’s presence in its existing sectors.

Gavin Sorby, managing director, said: “We are delighted to welcome Chithra to Buttress. Her skills, experience and values are well aligned with those of the practice, and her appointment will strengthen our workplace, retail and industrial offer.”
