Manchester Airport DoubleTree goes to market for £30m

A stone’s throw away from Manchester Airport’s terminals, located off the M56 motorway, the 230-bed hotel is just 10 miles from Manchester’s city centre.

The DoubleTree by Hilton hotel has extensive meeting room facilities for both corporate and private events, with a capacity of 300 people.

Christie & Co is marketing the freehold sale on behalf of a private owner, and the guide price is set for offers exceeding £30m.

All 230 bedrooms have en suites. Amenities include a restaurant, bar, garden, 24/7 gym, and a variety of shops.

The offer includes a variety of asset management and value enhancement opportunities, including the acquisition of the asset without third-party management and the potential to expand the hotel.

A large car park is able to accommodate up to 260 vehicles and additional income can be made off ‘park and fly’ packages for travellers.

The building has an EPC rating of B.

Jeremy Jones, head of brokerage at Christie & Co, said: “Hotels of the size and scale of the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Airport rarely come to the market. With 25 million passengers in 2023, Manchester Airport is truly the UK’s global gateway in the north with 49 airlines serving 196 destinations.

“The investment in the airport is huge with the £1.3 billion transformation programme set to be completed next year.”

He added: “Manchester itself is a global investment target for many international buyers and so we anticipate strong levels of interest in this highly profitable hotel.”

Built in 1986, the four-star hotel was last renovated in 2000.
