Maddox hires senior planner
Amy Brontë Littlejohns has joined Maddox Planning as the newly formed consultancy grows its Manchester base at Ancoats’ Beehive Mill.
Maddox’s Manchester office was launched at the start of last year, following the recruitment Stephen Morgan-Hyland from Lichfields. The office is Maddox’s first outside of London.
Senior planner Littlejohn has joined from Rapleys, where she was also a senior planner, working across national major regeneration schemes.

It’s good to see smaller consultancies thriving and I think Amy hits the nail on the head here – smaller consultancies can offer opportunities beyond simply churning out Planning Statements and never getting to spend any face time with clients.
A particularly reassuring story in an age where small-medium sized practices are being gobbled up my international conglomerates (HOW, Indigo, etc)

I’m with you Anonymous, I’m working for a big consultancy and they’ve just got me chained up in the basement writing planning statements. I’ve never even spoken to a client, let alone met one!

Dear Anonymous 2, I am genuinely sorry to hear that as planning is all about people and you should be out there enjoying your job. We operate a project lifecycle model, which means that every member of the team gets involved on every aspect of a project from start to finish. There is no better way to improve creativity and productivity and generate a team buzz. I do hope that your bosses read this and unleash your brilliant mind as I am sure that you have so much more to learn from each other.
