LSH hires from Manchester City Council
James Shuttleworth has joined Lambert Smith Hampton’s Manchester office, taking the consultancy’s planning and development team to eight members.
Shuttleworth has joined the consultant after around 12 years at the council, where he was a planning and infrastructure manager, and worked on projects including the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework, the Northern Gateway, and the Piccadilly strategic regeneration framework.
He joined LSH this month as an associate director in its planning team, working alongside director Paul Shuker, who heads up the team.
The consultant’s planning department now numbers eight, including Phil Crowther, who returned to the company after 18 months working client-side. It also added Poppy Hilton from Lichfields and Andrew Corrin from WSP.
Shuker said: “This appointment is a real coup for Lambert Smith Hampton. James will strengthen the strategic counsel, planning expertise and market insights we offer to clients. He has unrivalled knowledge of planning in the city not to mention the huge regeneration opportunities that will be realised in Manchester and the northern powerhouse over the next 20 to 30 years.
“His understanding and intelligence in relation to current and emerging Government strategic direction will be of significant value to our clients.”
Congrats Shutts
