Logik presses on with 1.8m sq ft Lancashire industrial
The developer has set the ball rolling on plans to redevelop almost 70 acres in Samlesbury near Preston as part of the Cuerdale Garden Village scheme.
Logik Strategic Land, part of Manchester-based Logik Developments, is proposing the creation of 1.8m sq ft of industrial and distribution space. Indicative proposals show the largest unit could reach 340,000 sq ft.
As well as industrial space, Logik is also proposing up to 80,000 sq ft of offices, 53,000 sq ft of retail space, and almost 100,000 sq ft of hotels.
A consultation has been launched on the scheme, which Logik said could create 2,000 jobs and generate more than £120m for the local economy every year.
Neil Spencer, director at Logik Strategic Land, said: “We would encourage as many people as possible to take part in our consultation process and let us know what they think about the proposals, at this early stage.
“These sites can deliver massive economic benefits to the regional economy and create a significant number of jobs.”
An outline planning application will be submitted to South Ribble Council following the consultation process. Day Architectural is leading on design and Avison Young is the planning consultant. Urban Green is the landscape architect.
A consultation will also separately be taking place shortly on the wider Cuerdale Garden Village allocation that is being promoted as part of the emerging new Central Lancashire Local Plan process.
The 1,300-home residential element of Cuerdale Garden Village is being led by Story Homes.
