Mental health facility primed for Sefton

The second stage of a consultation to inform an emerging blueprint for the future of planning and development in the city region launched today, focussing on placemaking, communities and job creation.

Wirral Growth Company plans to start knocking down the retail complex before the end of the year, now that the sale of the asset has completed. 

Plans for a six-screen cinema on the site of the town's former library have been given the go-ahead by Knowsley Council more than three years after Reel Cinemas agreed to operate the venue.

The housebuilder has completed the acquisition of the 24-acre former Burtons Biscuit factory site in Moreton, Wirral for an undisclosed sum and work to build 257 homes is underway.

Halton Council has approved plans for the 50,000 sq ft complex on Moor Lane, paving the way for contractor Wates Construction to start on site. 

Contractor GMI Construction has been appointed to build a £7.7m flexible office scheme on Tower Road South for developer Peel L&P. 

Proposals for a waterside events centre, business incubator space and a regeneration of Lord Street, the town’s central retail boulevard, are included in a funding submission to the Government to revive the Merseyside coastal town.

A £1.4m redesign and refurbishment of the town centre market is to commence on Monday, to create a modern dining and events space.
