Peel L&P nears £4.4m deal for Wirral Waters offices

The logistics sector across the North of England has the potential to achieve transformational growth and create an additional 174,000 jobs by 2050 if key barriers are addressed, according to research commissioned by logistics developer Tritax Symmetry and written by planning and development consultancy Turley.

The planned transformation of the market has taken a step forward after the council bagged a seven-figure grant, enabling the project to complete this financial year subject to approval of a business case being submitted in September.

The Warrington-based primary care investor has avoided the worst of the Covid-19 disruption and remained resilient with a strong pipeline of developments and acquisitions to progress over the next 12 months, it said. 

A consultation has opened on a masterplan for Southport that proposes new leisure attractions, investment in conferencing and theatre space, waterfront living, a transport interchange and high street regeneration.

Telegraph House on Moor Lane, a 18,700 sq ft retail and office building, was due to go to auction but a sale has now been agreed before the property was put under the hammer.

The property developer and investor has leased a warehouse unit on Dock Road to cleaning products supplier Organica UK, on a 6.5-year lease at £95,000 per year. 

The Greater Manchester and Liverpool mayors said town centre regeneration plans could take a different course in the wake of the pandemic, and pressed the Government to deliver adequate funding to help the region emerge from lockdown.

A project to map out the UK’s first net zero carbon industrial cluster by 2040, located in the North West and incorporating the HyNet hydrogen and carbon capture storage plant near Ellesmere Port, has received Government grants to spur its delivery.
