TfN bids for £700m roads funding

The city council has put forward a bid to the Government to radically remodel the junction with the M62, including knocking down the Queens Drive flyover, in a bid to cut congestion.

Knowsley Council is poised to accept a £12m grant from Liverpool City Region Combined Authority's strategic investment fund, to deliver access routes into the Halsnead Garden Village site. 

The demolition of the Churchill Way flyovers in Liverpool could be completed by the end of the year, at a cost of £6.75m, with a masterplan to be created to guide the future of the available land. 

Permanent repairs are now under way on a section of wall at Liverpool Lime Street station which collapsed onto railway tracks more than two years ago.
