The Japanese industrial giant has confirmed it is to end business operations in nuclear power plant construction in the UK, sounding the death knell for its Wylfa Newydd plant on Anglesey.

The council has described developer Low Carbon Farming’s request for a rapid approval of its plans to build two 18-acre greenhouses as “ambitious and unrealistic”, and the firm could now miss out on a Government subsidy for the scheme.

Brighton-based Low Carbon Farming, which provides green solutions to the food industry, has lodged an application for a pair of greenhouses occupying a combined 37 acres west of Sesswick Way in Marchwiel, Wrexham.
