Third time lucky for Cumbria wildlife centre

Discount supermarket group Lidl GB will next week hold a public consultation day to outline plans for a store on New Bridge Road, Workington. 

DSD Construction has moved into a 9,000 sq ft facility at Kingmoor Park in Carlisle, after building the offices and road connecting the plot to the wider business park.

The council is expected to sign off its Local Plan at a meeting tomorrow, covering development across the borough up to 2031 and including a masterplan for regenerating the town centre.

The fate of the £29m development, hanging in the balance following local elections earlier this month, is due to be decided at a planning committee meeting next week.
