Caddick Construction has completed work on the £154m Moda Angel Gardens build-to-rent scheme in Manchester.

Developer Northhold Group has appointed contractor ABGI Construction to build Deluna, a 38-apartment scheme on the site of a former pub on Oldham Road in Manchester. 

The developer is readying plans for 440 student beds on the site of the USDAW trade union building on Wilmslow Road in Manchester, a scheme designed by Tim Groom Architects. 

A 150-bedroom hotel in Piccadilly backed by Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, and Kames Property Income Fund’s 135,000 sq ft Deansgate office block are tipped for consent by Manchester City Council next week. 

The build-to-rent developer has acquired the second phase of the redevelopment of the former Stagecoach depot in Moss Side from contractor Rowlinson for around £9m, after buying the first phase last year for £16m.

The investment firm has appointed Dan Hyde as senior development manager to lead the delivery of 4 Angel Square, the latest office at the 20-acre Manchester business district, among other projects. 

Developer Federated Hermes could expand office provision at the Manchester business district to 1.6m sq ft, once the council approves an updated masterplan for the 20-acre scheme on Wednesday.

James Heather, development director of regeneration firm U+I, has left the company "to pursue other interests".

The developer has reached practical completion of the 21-storey apartment scheme, the smaller of two towers being delivered as the first phase of the Crown Street project in Manchester.
