Department store group House of Fraser has appointed KPMG to advise on a restructuring strategy, with potential implications for Chester’s long-awaited Northgate scheme, which the retailer is due to anchor.

Edge Hill University has secured Government backing to open a medical school in Ormskirk, but the University of Chester’s plans for a £40m new-build facility are in doubt after it was unsuccessful in its bid for funding.
Cheshire West & Chester Council and Rivington Land have ramped up their attempts to secure funding for the £300m Northgate project, declaring that they intend for phase one of Northgate to be complete by the end of 2020, and phase two in 2022.
The pan-European investor, which manages Birchwood Park, is to be the lead sponsor for Cheshire and Warrington at MIPIM 2018, heading a list of 31 organisations including Bruntwood, Peel and Grosvenor.
