Mount’s £45m Natex tops out

Liverpool school pupils are being encouraged to pursue a career in construction, through an initiative to support the design, engineering and build of the Stonebridge Cross housing development in Croxteth.

The second phase of the 145-apartment scheme in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle has been placed into receivership after work stalled in November. 

Contractor GMI Construction has started building the 34,000 sq ft office block on Liverpool’s Tower Road South, a scheme now renamed ‘Hythe’ after the Old English for ‘a landing place or small harbour for ships or boats’.

Developers Nexus Residential and Legacie Developments will invest £40m to complete the scheme after acquiring the site for an undisclosed sum following the collapse of the project’s previous developer, Primesite, in 2019. 

Planning permission has been granted to build two 20,000 sq ft sound studios on land adjacent to the Littlewoods Building, which is being redeveloped into a centre for the film and TV industry.

The joint venture, made up of Crossfield Developments and Exclusive Investments, has finished construction of the Norfolk Street development and sold all 130 apartments after it bought the site in Liverpool's Baltic Triangle out of liquidation.

The 200-unit luxury residential scheme known as The Address has completed, spanning an 11-storey block in Liverpool city centre.

Liverpool City Council has selected the contractor to build two 20,000 sq ft sound stages for film and television production on Edge Lane, next to Capital & Centric’s £54m Littlewoods Studios development. 

The Liverpool-based construction firm has expanded its team with the appointment of Iain Sutton, former regional commercial manager at Wates, as its head of operations.
