LK Group bolsters structures division
The multidisciplinary firm has brought in Giovanni Smanio as director of the division, as the business continues to expand.
LK Group delivers integrated technical, environmental and project delivery services across the construction sector, and described the addition of Smanio as a key appointment as it continues to expand its UK operations and strengthen delivery across its structural engineering function.
Smanio brings more than 12 year’s experience and six years’ post-chartership delivering structural engineering solutions across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments, as well as refurbishment and historic building schemes.
Previously at B&K Hybrid Solutions, he will support the firm’s structures division in the North West, working closely with the structural surveying team on projects while contributing to wider technical delivery.
He also previously spent time with Clancy and Civic.
Conor Leyden, managing director of the LK Group, said: “Expanding our structural capability is an important part of our growth strategy, and Giovanni’s appointment enhances the support we can provide across our structural surveying and engineering teams.
“His experience will add real value to our project delivery, particularly on structural schemes where close integration with our wider technical teams is essential.”
Smanio said: “The LK Group’s integrated approach to ground engineering, environmental services, and structural capabilities was a key factor in my decision to join. I’m looking forward to supporting the continued growth of the structures division and contributing to a diverse range of projects UK-wide.”
Headquartered in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester, LK Group now boasts a team of more than 50 people working nationally.
Projects the business is working on include Eden Project Morecambe, Ashton Market, Staffordshire Gateway, Soapworks, Paw Patrol Land, and Birtenshaw High School.
