Liverpool/Sefton health facilities to be constructed

Mersey Care NHS Trust and Liverpool and Sefton Health Partnership is establishing a five-year framework to deliver new facilities across Liverpool and Sefton.

Under a project known as To Improve Mental health Environments, it aims deliver five facilities with the first phase involving two facilities totalling 61,000 sq ft located on Rice Lane and Edge Lane in Liverpool.

The framework agreement is expected to last four years with maximum one year extension for exceptional circumstances.

The total value of purchases for the entire duration of the framework agreement is estimated to cost between £75m-£85m.

As well as new facilities at Walton Hospital in Rice Lane and on the former Ian Skelly site in Edge Lane, new facilities are also planned for Mossley Hill Hospital in Park Avenue, Liverpool, Sefton Health Park on Smithdown Health Resource Park in Smithdown Road, Liverpool, and Southport General Infirmary in Scarisbrick New Road, Southport.

Deadline for submitting tenders is Monday 1 February 2010.
