Liverpool moves to offload city centre office
The city council will meet later this week to agree that Venture Place on Sir Thomas Street is surplus to requirements and should be sold.
Liverpool City Council said the disposal of the eight-storey building is “aligned with the authority’s accommodation strategy, which seeks to rationalise its operational assets”.
The strategy specifically seeks to “deliver long-term savings and to produce capital receipts”, according to a report to the city council’s cabinet.
Venture Place, which was built in the 1960s and comprises 31,000 sq ft of office space, has been fully vacant since January, with staff having been relocated elsewhere.
The building is the latest Liverpool City Council has said goodbye to as part of its rationalisation strategy and move to a more agile model of working. Others include Millennium House, Municipal buildings, Brougham Terrace and Premier Court.
If Liverpool’s cabinet signs off the disposal, an agent will be appointed to market Venture Place for sale.
Almost inevitably will end up as apartments, hotel or self catering, would like to think it might remain as offices but we`ll see, as long as it`s occupied.

the city needs jobs and new employment opportunities other than low paid hospitality work . This useless council needs to laser focus on attracting business not stag and hen parties.
