Langtree hires CBRE to bolster Spring Gardens sales

Developer Langtree has announced the practical completion of its 40 Spring Gardens office building in central Manchester and the appointment of CB Richard Ellis as joint lettings agents.

The 100,000 sq ft building over nine levels is half let to HBOS subsidiary Bank of Scotland Corporate, which has now taken occupation of floors five to eight and a ground floor suite for a new corporate branch. The remaining 52,000 sq ft has yet to see another deal since the bank signed a pre-let in 2006.

CBRE replaces Erinaceous which has all but lost its office agency capacity since Peter Gallagher, Phil Meakin and colleagues left to set up P3.

HBOS this month sublet the ninth floor of No. 1 Marsden Street to the Bank of Ireland ahead of its consolidation at 40 Spring Gardens.

CBRE joins WHR Property Consultants as lettings agents. Balfour Beatty was the main contractor.
