Landmark tops out
Contractor Bowmer & Kirkland has reached the highest point of construction on Barings Real Estate’s 180,000 sq ft Landmark Manchester office development.
Landmark, on the site of the former Odeon cinema in Oxford Street, is being undertaken by Barings on behalf of an institutional investor and is due to be completed in summer 2019. The building is to offer 14 floors of office space around an offset core.
The project team includes architect Squire & Partners, development manager Castlebrooke Investments and Gardiner & Theobald as project manager. CBRE and Colliers International are instructed as joint leasing agents. .
Ian Mayhew, managing director at Barings Real Estate, said: “We started on site almost two years ago with demolition works and the incredibly complex basement formation phase.
“To have reached this important milestone where Landmark is visible on the Manchester skyline is incredibly exciting. Along with our fantastic team, we are now rapidly moving closer to delivering exceptional office space. The status of the Manchester office market has grown significantly with demand for Grade A office space in the city being extremely high. We are seeing strong interest in Landmark.”
