Kingswood kicks off construction of 149 Blackburn homes

Work has started on the latest phase of Green Hills in Feniscowles, a scheme the housebuilder is delivering in partnership with Together Housing.

Kingswood Homes won planning permission for the 149-house project off Horden Rake last year. The development comprises a mix of two-, three-, and four-bedroom properties, 112 of which would be affordable.

More than half of the homes will be made available for shared ownership, 53 will be available for rent, and 37 will be sold on the open market.

Paul Jones, managing director of Kingswood Homes, said: “Breaking ground on this phase of homes represents a crucial step forward in our vision to create an inclusive, thriving community at Green Hills. This development showcases our commitment to delivering high- quality homes while addressing the vital need for affordable housing in the area.”

Green Hills features a wildflower meadow and linear park. It is intended for the development to become a ‘lifetime neighbourhood’ catering to first-time buyers, downsizers, and growing families according to Kingswood Homes’

Dai Howells, assistant director of development at Together Housing, added: “Our partnership with Kingswood Homes continues to strengthen as we break ground on this new phase. This development represents our shared commitment to providing high-quality, affordable homes in Blackburn, responding to the diverse housing needs of the local community.”

The project team features Enzygo, SLR, Clement Acoustics, LK Consult, PDP Associates, and DEP Landscape Architecture.
