Kherlopian has worked at Mather & Co for three and a half years and previously spent 15 years as chief executive of Image K Digital, a South African museum fit-out company operating across Europe and Africa. He is a graduate of the University of Cape Town.
Mather & Co is a 25-year-old design consultancy specialising in museum, leisure, retail, and entertainment schemes.
The company has worked on projects including Quarry Bank Mill in Greater Manchester; Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings; the R&A World Golf Museum; The Silverstone Experience at Silverstone Interactive Museum; The Olympic Museum; Coronation Street: The Tour; York Minster Revealed; Downton Abbey: The Exhibition, and The Royal Mint Experience.
Its current North West project pipeline includes Manchester Town Hall, where it is creating a new visitor attraction telling the story of the Alfred Waterhouse-designed building that is undergoing a circa-£320m refurbishment led by Manchester City Council.
Kherlopian said: “I’m incredibly excited to take on this new challenge and look forward to expanding on all the great work that has already been done. I am proud to be surrounded by an amazingly talented and creative team and look forward to the challenges of delivering the Mather & Co vision for years to come.”
