Company Overview

We are a development and construction company delivering affordable housing in the North West. Here at Alderley Group and Complete Construction, we are looking for a Senior Site Manager to join a rapidly expanding company. We are a leading UK Main Contractor and our projects deliver new build residential schemes under JCT D&B contracts.

Senior Site Project Manager Overview

The role is in the Warrington area and you will work alongside the Group Managing Director Kevin Corish.

As Senior Site manager you are responsible for ensuring that a construction project is completed on time and within budget.

You are responsible for the management of the construction site in order to achieve required project delivery to the customers’ objectives, while maintaining high standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact and cost control. You will be delivering residential project, to the specified quality, the required program and to the maximum commercial performance. You will be working closely with engineers and surveyors to ensure that projects are completed in a safe manner whilst customer requirements and expectations are always maintained or exceeded.

You must be suitably qualified and have a strong understanding of construction.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Attend site meetings and sub-contractor meetings through construction delivery
  • Attend client meetings through construction delivery
  • Generally all tasks to support the business

Site management

  • Have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of projects
  • Ensuring the client specifications are met
  • Reviewing progress and liaising with SQS to monitor costs
  • Deliver the work safely, without environmental incidents and to the specified quality without defects
  • Coordinating and supervising construction workers
  • Selecting tools required to deliver the construction
  • Making safety inspections and ensuring site safety
  • Manage subcontractors and provide direct instruction and support as necessary such that contractual arrangements are achieved
  • Maintain quality control procedures
  • Finding ways to problem solve
  • Assessing and minimizing risk
  • Keep a high standard filing system on site for all areas
  • Arranging permits and licenses
  • Ensure the commercial performance of the contract is maximised
  • Ensure production and implementation of Project Plans, risk assessments, method statements, site waste management plans are in line with Company procedures
  • Produce and manage the project program
  • Encourage and coach team members to develop their skills
  • Responsible for drawings and specification, making sure all drawings are up to date
  • Manage your site team, such as SQS and Site Operatives
  • Deliver the build and manage sub-contractors and material
  • Managing H&S with support from our H&S Consultant
  • Managing Structural Warranty standards and info with Group MD for Premier Guarantee
  • Managing Building Control standards and info with Group MD for Building Control Consultant
  • Manage Considerate Constructors standards
  • Manage Utilities programme and the completion of infrastructure works with our appointed contractor and the support of Group MD

Client interface 

  • Undertake an ambassadorial role, representing the business to customers, public and official bodies
  • Deliver end product to customer satisfaction


  • Produce good quality, accurate weekly/monthly reports for the company
  • Attend Client meetings and internally Chair weekly site meetings in line with Company procedures
  • Ensure detailed site diaries/records are completed
  • Maintain commercial tension to drive out cost and challenge the status quo


  • Demonstration of self-management and prioritisation skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to influence stakeholders and third parties
  • Capable of taking a project through from inception to completion
  • Ensuring high standards of compliance
  • Ability to demonstrate the right behaviors and motivate and lead the team in line with the Company culture
  • Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion,
  • Excellent communication, people and team management skills Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion,
  • Program & Risk Management and cost control including forecasting, actual cost and value reporting
  • Good Considerable experience in Civil Engineering Working knowledge of JCT & NEC contract conditions, CDM regulations, Design Management, Program & Risk Management and cost control
  • Good knowledge of specifications and testing regime relevant to general civil engineering Degree, all areas of construction equivalent CSCS Managers card IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS Temporary Works Co-Ordinator
