Reporting to the Head of Service for Construction and Major Projects your role will be to provide robust project management and critical client-side risk monitoring across the Major Project Programme in order to drive Construction and Regeneration major projects against agreed timescales, budgets and quality.
The global pandemic has hit the economy hard and investment in our borough is essential to kick start the economy. We have a wide range of projects that we are looking to deliver directly or through partners. These schemes range from large scale city centre regeneration projects, through housing, leisure and infrastructure projects.
We are looking for people who have a passion for delivery and are motivated by seeing projects through to completion. It goes without saying that you will be able to work in a multi stakeholder environment and be able to manage risk whilst balancing time, cost and quality.
Our borough is full of opportunity and contrasts. At the heart of the borough is the historic city of Chester that faces many of the challenges other similar sized towns and cities face but with attributes other cities would envy. In contrast, Ellesmere Port is rich in advanced manufacturing industry and world leading technology. Northwich has undergone a major transformation in recent years as has Winsford and the council is playing a key role in their continued renaissance. Our market towns and countryside are a backdrop that makes Cheshire West a great place to live.
We can promise you that no two days will be the same. Your time will be spent working from home, site and the office to enable you to balance your home and work life. Determination and enthusiasm will be key, and you will be working with a diverse range of people and organisations so relationship building will be important.
This role would suit somebody with a strong background of working closely with Property Developers and abroad knowledge of all aspects of construction and development management.
Experience of Construction Project Management, degree or similar in a construction or a property related qualification is highly desirable and whilst a knowledge of how local authorities may help, we are also keen to hear from those with a private sector background in project delivery.
A successful track record of delivering projects from concept to completion is essential.
In return, the Council offers a comprehensive benefits package including a minimum of 25 days annual leave (rising to 30 days after 5 years’ service), flexible working arrangements, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme and a host of other working rewards including cycle scheme and technology purchase scheme.
