Company Overview

We are a development and construction company delivering affordable housing in the North West. Here at Alderley Group and Complete Construction, we are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join a rapidly expanding company. We are a leading UK Main Contractor and our projects deliver new build residential schemes under JCT D&B contracts.

The Senior Project Manager Role

The successful Senior Project Manager will be managing residential new build multiple projects with support from an established team of project Managers or Senior Site Mangers in Warrington.

The Senior Project Manager will be delivering specialist services across pre and post-contract management services and development management. Manage resources, schedules, financials and adhere to stage gate quality and SDLC control guidelines throughout the full systems development life cycle. This also includes management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. Contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.

The Senior Project Manager has the authority to run the project and his/her site teams on a day-to-day basis. Verify that the project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost and to achieve the potential benefits defined in the business case.

The successful Senior Project Manager will be reporting to our Group Managing Director, providing weekly updates and reports. You will have good communication and IT skills, a demonstrable of understanding structured SPM role.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage all aspects of multiple projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of delivery
  • Development of project documentation, programmes, budgets.
  • Undertaking contract administration
  • Provide on-site leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations, including project team, to Group MD & Client
  • Establish practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
  • Fully responsible for the successful delivery of projects
  • Ensuring the client specifications are met
  • Reviewing progress and liaising with SQS to monitor costs
  • Responsible for site standards and set up
  • Oversee the coordination and supervising construction workers
  • Approve the selection of tools required to deliver the construction
  • Making safety inspections and ensuring site safety
  • Oversee the management of subcontractors and provide direct instruction and support as necessary such that contractual arrangements are achieved
  • Check and Maintain quality control procedures
  • Assessing and minimizing risk for the project
  • Arranging permits and licenses
  • Ensure the commercial performance of the contract is maximised
  • Check and ensure production and implementation of Project Plans, risk assessments, method statements, temporary works, site waste management plans are in line with Company procedures
  • Produce and manage the project program
  • Report on project success, metrics, test and deployment management activities
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
  • Procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership
  • Demonstrate and support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices
  • Act as an internal quality control check for the project
  • Manage ongoing quality control and participate in quality issue resolution
  • Assist in dispute, negotiation, arbitration or litigation, as needed
  • Support formal/informal schedules to manage the engagement contract
  • Manage Specifications is met for the construction
  • Responsible for drawings and specifications, making sure all drawings are up to date
  • Managing Structural Warranty standards and info with Group MD for Premier Guarantee
  • Managing Building Control standards and info with Group MD for Building Control Consultant
  • Manage Considerate Constructors standards
  • Manage Utilities programme and the completion of infrastructure works with our appointed contractor and the support of Group MD

The Senior Project Manager must have:

Minimum of 5 years’ post-graduation experience, preferably in a private practice

Some experience in a broad range of project management duties, including: Employers Agent and Contract Administration
