Wakefield Council has an enviable record in delivering regeneration, housing and economic growth.
We are now looking to appoint a talented and innovative Senior Development Manager to lead part of the newly reformed Regeneration team within the Strategic Housing and Regeneration Service of the Council, to creatively manage and lead the development and delivery of the Council’s ambitious regeneration aims and objectives.
Able to work strategically with excellent leadership and management skills, you will lead a team within the Regeneration team on a range of key programmes, projects and initiatives, which will implement the sustainable regeneration and urban renaissance of the Wakefield District, in line with the objectives set out in the Wakefield District Economic Strategy. You will have excellent programme and project management skills and experience and be able to develop and implement creative, innovative, comprehensive and practical enterprising and deliverable solutions for physically reviving and repurposing the city and town centres across the Wakefield District to help make them a destination for businesses, investors, residents and visitors.
You will be skilled in creating and maintaining excellent partnership working relationships across the Council, and with a wide range of external partners in the public, private, voluntary and community sectors, and have a track record of securing investment to finance initiatives and enhance delivery. You should also have the capacity to adapt in a changing environment and the judgement and political intuition to make effective, deliverable decisions.
