A medium-sized cost consultancy with offices throughout the UK has a requirement for a Quantity Surveyor from a highways/infrastructure background to work on a range of interesting schemes. The Consultancy are very well established within their market and you’ll be working closely with key clients, ensuring an excellent level of service is offered. The ideal candidate will ideally be from a PQS background however those from a contractor background with the right experience are welcomed. Ideally you will be chartered or working towards becoming so.
About the role
You will be able to work independently, leading on your own projects and dealing with the end client. The role will offer a mix of Pre & Post Contract commissions, including but not limited to:
Pre- Contract: Preparing bills of quantities and preambles for contracts, establishment of budgets & cost planning, tender evaluation & target cost agreement
Post-Contract: Commercial Management of the contracts as the Principal Contractors Quantity Surveyor, dealing with variations, target cost revisions, cost forecasting, approval of subcontractor payments & final account agreements.
You’ll be able to work on a range of projects, with a focus on the highways sector but also offering schemes within Rail, Civil Engineering & Infrastructure. The consultancy has worked on major schemes in the past including Mersey Gateway, Manchester Metrolink Extension, Sellafield.
