Steven Abbott Associates is seeking to appoint a Planning Consultant to join an established team.
Steven Abbott Associates has 30 years experience serving a broad client base across the UK, and has developed a strong reputation during that period. We have an expanding case load which reflects the diversity of our commissions, including residential, retail, leisure/tourism, commercial/industrial, agricultural and food production schemes. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and sustain a productive client portfolio.
We work with a range of commercial, private, public and voluntary sector clients and offer a high quality, flexible and adaptive service in order to secure optimum outcomes. Our client list includes major national and regional house builders, commercial landowners and developers, retail operators, food production companies, agricultural and horticultural businesses, commercial leisure/tourism/recreation operators, private landowners and estates, and voluntary/charity sector organisations.
Workload will include: applications and submissions under planning and related legislation; preparation of development potential appraisals; briefing and managing inputs from related technical and environmental consultants; preparation and management of planning appeals through various procedures; monitoring of development plan preparation processes and the submission of representations; attendance and presentation at planning committees, public engagement exercises, planning appeal hearings/Inquiries and plan examinations.
Full RTPI Membership is required. Experience in the preparation and/or management of planning applications and appeals across a broad range of development sectors should be displayed. Candidates should display commercial awareness and a positive attitude to development. The post holder will be dynamic and ambitious, and will display relevant experience and expertise to tackle a broad spectrum of development management and planning policy cases.
