We are looking for a progressive and versatile, Associate Director to join our busy Manchester-based team.
You will be a prolific work winner with excellent links within the North West property market and key decision makers in the region and able to lead and support our partners on key projects within residential and commercial development sectors. With proven technical skills, you’ll apply your knowledge to ensure you deliver projects to time and budget and effectively respond to what is a changing and diverse market.
Providing unrivalled professional and technical advice, you will maintain and develop long standing relationships with clients in the key development sectors. You will be expected to operate at a competent and professional level within the field of planning with little direct supervision, as a minimum. The role will involve all aspects of infrastructure and development planning. It will require an excellent knowledge of the planning system, NSIP’s and the ability to process planning applications for major residential and commercial developments. This will include the assessment of detailed and technical document including transport, environmental impact statements that support planning applications, the negotiation of all aspects of a planning application, and direct liaison with internal and external clients.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you’ll bring to the role sound knowledge and proven experience in the field of town planning, with relevant industry experience. You will have been involved in large or complex development projects, as well as experience or knowledge of Local Authority procedures and protocols in dealing with such large infrastructure projects as well as a solid track record on a delivering a duty to co-operate with neighbouring authorities. We are looking for candidates with enthusiastic and a flexible approach that equips WYG to support diverse teams in line with changing priorities. You will be a member or fellow of a professional body, such as RTPI or RICS.
