Regenda is now recruiting a Head of Development to work with our development team at our fantastic new offices in the heart of Liverpool city centre.

About the role

Regenda’s development programme is has reached an exciting stage as we look forward to the completion of our first large scale PRS development as part of the Liverpool Waters regeneration. We are also now consulting with residents on a potential £40m regeneration of a City Centre site in Liverpool.

Our partnership with our in-house contractor has also developed and several new build sites underway. The Group’s first Extra Care development supports our plans for further regeneration and development in Fleetwood, Lancashire. Our programme is not just about delivering over 1,200 new homes up to 2024, but to deliver a diverse range of projects that Regenerate Places across the North West region. Our programme includes outright sale, market rent, shared ownership, affordable and social rented homes.

The Head of Development role will have overall programme management responsibility for the Group’s development and pipeline programme, ensuring the delivery of the programme is achieved in line with our Corporate Plan objectives. We are seeking someone with demonstrable experience of managing property related teams effectively to achieve our ambitious targets.

This role supports the Director of Development in the identification, appraisal and delivery of a diverse programme of new development activity, therefore a strong network of industry contacts will be beneficial. An important part of our Development approach is to grow our partnership with our In-house construction company and this role is integral to the success of this partnership. Candidates should be able to demonstrate how they have collaborated successfully to form productive partnerships.

We would expect you to be financially astute, with an eye for a deal that makes good commercial sense and dynamic in your approach to respond to a variety of opportunities within tight timescales. Experience of working with Pamwin or similar development appraisal systems, knowledge of development economics, the delivery issues affecting all tenures and a good level of construction and contract knowledge is important. In addition to knowledge of housing markets and factors affecting needs and demand, and an understanding of Homes England funding and procedure requirements.

Ideally, you will have a technical qualification supported by a wide experience of successfully delivering development and regeneration projects of significant scale. The Development team is primarily based at our head office in Liverpool where you would spend a good deal of your time, but workspace is available for use at our regional offices in St Helens and Oldham as well as the availability of other agile working options.
