Responsible for managing the planning process on behalf of the company on new and existing sites throughout the UK, to include:

  • Co-ordinating preparation of planning submissions including planning applications, discharge of planning conditions, section 73 and non-material amendment applications
  • Liaising with local authority and external consultants, including external planning consultants, architects/designers, technical consultants and other professional consultants
  • Coordinating public consultation and stakeholder events
  • Monitoring compliance with and discharge of planning conditions
  • Monitoring central regional and local government policies guidance and advice
  • Assisting with the negotiation of Section 106 agreements and CIL

Knowledge and skills

  • Have experience of dealing with local authorities
  • Previous experience as a Planning Manager or Planner role with a residential developer or consultancy
  • Some public sector experience an advantage
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the UK residential planning and development process
  • Willingness and aspiration to manage all aspects of a project, from initial site appraisal through to Section 106 negotiations
  • Will have strong communication and decision making skills
  • Degree qualified in Town Planning, Urban Planning or similar and if not held, ideally MRTPI or MRICS qualified

Minimum of 2-3 years’ relevant post qualification experience, demonstrating site appraisal/negotiation/communication skills and knowledge of planning/legal process.
