About the role
You will deliver a broad range of building consultancy services to a number of key clients.
Duties will include;
- Surveying properties, identifying structural faults and making recommendations for repairs
- Assessing damage for insurance purposes
- Establishing who’s responsible for building repair costs
- Advising clients on issues like property boundary disputes
- Acting as a client’s supporter or acting as an expert witness during legal proceedings
- Checking properties to make sure they meet building regulations, and fire safety and accessibility standards
- Dealing with planning applications and with improvement or conservation grants
Your experience in pre-acquisition building surveys, design tender and contract procurement, schedule of condition and dilapidation administration will be essential to your success within the role. Strong knowledge of planning & building regulation, boundary right of light, health and safety and insurance reinstatement will also help you to hit the ground running.
If you like working without immediate supervision, like to keep accurate records and have great communication and interpersonal skills then you will fit into this role well.
As you’d expect you’ll need a qualification in Building Surveying and evidence of some CPD.
