Location: Greater Manchester
Wardell Armstrong is a leading multidisciplinary consultancy, providing a comprehensive and diverse set of professional services to a broad client base. With a unique mix of practical skills, knowledge and experience we work closely with our clients in the public and private sectors. We support and help them to realise the full potential and value of their resources and assets, gain increased business and financial returns from the environments they own and operate, and succeed in their ventures in a responsible and sustainable way.
Our civil, structural and geotechnical advice and design covers highways and highway structures, drainage systems, foundations, buildings and other civil engineering structures, earthworks, retaining structures and temporary works. Our clients include developers, housebuilders, manufacturers, mining and minerals operators, public authorities and contractors. We provide advice on dealing with defects in buildings and civil engineering works, and their implications. We also support clients, contractors, solicitors and claims consultants who are involved in disputes in connection with the construction or performance of building and civil engineering works.
Wardell Armstrong is looking to appoint an experienced Civil and/or Structural Engineer to head up its presently small, but ambitious civil/structural team in its Greater Manchester office. Although principally office-based, the work will involve site activities and may include site supervision duties from time to time.
Essential skills and experience
The successful candidate will be a Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer and have extensive experience of working in this field, including experience of leading a team, managing projects and developing business.
As a heavy emphasis will also be placed on developing the existing team, competency with civils/structural design and the various design software packages along with the production of technical specification documents and drawings is also required.
Current workload in the Greater Manchester Office mainly relates to projects in the waste sector but opportunities for further diversification are being actively explored to reflect the broader-based engineering services provided by Wardell Armstrong through its offices elsewhere in the UK.
In return for commitment, inspiration and contributing to the future of Wardell Armstrong we offer excellent career prospects in a supportive working environment with no restrictions on how far you can progress. You will receive:
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications
- Competitive benefits package
