The Development Team has the role of identifying, planning and delivering key property and infrastructure projects, that have a major impact in achieving two of the Council’s strategic priorities: improving the borough as a place to live, work and invest; and making the borough more prosperous. The team is also responsible for creating, managing and delivering town centre initiatives in Padiham, relating to partnerships, management, and events.
The team is currently working on projects that will improve Burnley town centre’s leisure and retail offer; enhance Padiham and Burnley town centre heritage; deliver new housing; help realise the Council’s ambition to become a University town, and enable employment growth and the wellbeing of residents through infrastructure schemes.
The team are looking for someone to take a supporting role in creating and delivering this broad range of projects and initiatives. Duties will include obtaining and administrating funding, preparing and managing delivery plans, and working with partners.
It is essential you have the relevant qualifications or experience creating and delivering key development and regeneration projects and managing associated budgets. You must also have experience working in partnership with public and private sectors and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You must have the ability to manage projects effectively, using appropriate tools, systems and information.
As part of a small team, you will need a flexible approach to the role and type of work. The team works closely with the Head of Service and Senior Management and the ability to communicate effectively is essential.
