      Anwyl Homes Lancashire are looking to strengthen their regional land team with the appointment of a Land Buyer to work on the promotion of their current portfolio of sites, as well as identify and appraise new land opportunities.

      As our Land Buyer you will be responsible for sourcing viable, attractive, and profitable land opportunities in line with the businesses core strategy across the Lancashire region. The successful candidate will work as part of a close knit, experienced team on both short- and medium-term opportunities.

      Main duties and responsibilities

      • Ability to identify viable land development opportunities both on and off market for delivery in the short to medium term
      • Be able to carry out site viability appraisals, market research and planning appraisals on prospective sites and areas
      • Assist with the building of a short and medium term land pipeline for the region
      • Strong knowledge of the residential market with a growing individual network of contacts within the industry. This will be required in order to maintain and expand the companies contact base with various land owners, agents and local authorities
      • Be able to support and assist with formulation and management of offers, co-ordination of investigations, negotiation with local authorities, agents, solicitors and third parties
      • Procure technical, legal and development information to liaise and instruct internal and external parties to appraise site opportunities and constraints
      • Technical ability and a good understanding of the planning process and planning system within our region
      • Ability to manage external consultants for the submission of planning applications and appeals if required
      • Support and assist the land team and wider regional departments as required
      • At all times comply with Company policies, procedures and instructions

      The role will be based at our Lancashire office in Chorley.

      The successful candidate will have the following skills, experience and attributes

      • Will have a minimum of 2 years developer or consultancy experience and ideally from a land and/or planning background;
      • Proven track record in the identification and valuation of sites and must be able to demonstrate previous work experience;
      • Degree or masters qualification in a relevant subject to the job role;
      • Must have a sound geographical knowledge of our operating area;
      • A skilled professional whom is a self-starter and able to work autonomously and collaboratively;
      • Strong and persuasive negotiations skills and able to communicate on all levels both orally and written;
      • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise own workload;
      • Excellent administrative and IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook);
      • Excellent organisational skills;
      • Must hold a full clean UK driving licence and be a competent driver as the role requires a proportion of your time out of the office to attend site visits, meetings etc.

      Working hours

      • 8.30am – 5.15pm (Monday – Thursday)
      • 8.30am – 4pm (Friday)
      • Whilst these are the standard hours, there needs to be flexibility in order to fully fulfil the role the job requires
