      The Client & Role

      Kingsley is retained by a global organisation and major occupier of circa 500 commercial properties within the UK & Northern Ireland, with business rates payments of more than £50m per annum, plus additional liabilities.

      The main purpose of this Business Rates – Commercial Manager role is to lead and manage business rates savings across the large commercial estate, working with the outsourced business rates partner (real estate consultancy) to deliver such savings.

      This is a unique and exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to work across both the extensive real estate portfolio and, be at the centre of the company’s full scale property team.

      Responsibilities

      • Leading on business rates for the organisations ‘Property & Facilities Services’ and capturing and optimise opportunities.
      • Proactively integrating business rates with all P&FS teams (strategy, projects, property management) to ensure business rates opportunities are captured.
      • Leading, developing and delivering specific projects to enable business rates savings and identify a future pipeline of opportunities.
      • Managing the outsourced business rates partner to deliver business rates savings
      • Minimising business rates risk across the portfolio, recommending and delivering measures to minimise liability risk.
      • Leading on business rates professional development for the property team to broaden knowledge of business rates opportunities.
      • Compilation of necessary data, resolution of VOA enquiries and information provision for business rates appeals.
      • Leading on the development and rollout of internal processes, to maintain compliance with duty to notify legislation.

      Pre-Requisites

      • Knowledge of Business Rates including Receipts & Expenditure Valuation Methodology.
      • Knowledge / understanding of the company’s regulatory accounts and product portfolio
      • Previous experience of working in regulatory and or competition finance is desirable, but not essential
      • Relationship Management: strong relationship management skills.  To build a network of stakeholders both within the property team and wider across the group.
      • Supplier Management: strong supplier management skills to manage the companies outsourced business rates partner.
      • Financial Acumen: understand of company accounts and valuation of assets.
      • Process Development: able to design, deliver and communicate processes to a wide stakeholder audience.

      • Basic Salary of between £65,000 – £70,000 (D.O.E.)
