      An exceptional opportunity has become available for someone looking to develop their property career and specialise within Commercial Property (Business Rates).

      This will suit either an experienced property graduate currently working within residential or commercial property, or somebody with a solid background in property, perhaps in lettings, property management, administration etc who is hungry to develop and achieve more.

      Rating experience is not essential for this position, as full support and training is provided. What is essential is a passion for property, coupled with property experience, and an ambition to move your career forward, as this role an offer a huge amount of career progression.

      Working for a highly reputable property organisation that covers commercial surveying, facilities management, estate management, and finance, you will be part of the commercial surveying team, and specifically the team that focus on Business Rates.

      Your role will initially involve assisting the Head of Business Rates in delivering a full Business Rates service on all company assets and external assets under management. Responsibilities will include,

      • Identifying and control Business Rates liability on a variety of commercial properties including offices, industrial and retail units
      • Updating internal property databases and spreadsheets
      • Checking invoices are correct and sign off accordingly.
      • Contacting local authorities in relation to invoice amendments
      • Liaising with the surveying team on vacant properties liable for Business Rates
      • Challenging any disputed invoices with the Local Authorities
      • Corresponding with local authorities via letter, email and telephone to update on occupants and vacant units
      • Setting up payment plans with Local Authorities
      • Producing Business Rates savings reports for the Rating Surveyor using rating software Calcurate and Riverlake
      • Chasing invoice payments
      • Document and data management on all rating matters including occupier leases and occupancy details
      • Assisting Rating Surveyor with budgets for senior management.

       

      Once established in this position your career can further develop and progress into business development, where you will be assisting with new clients, attending networking events, and social media marketing.

      Within your career path, you can also have the opportunity to progress into a Rating Surveyor role longer term, looking after your own portfolio of clients, with full support and training.

      Alongside the amazing career opportunities offered with this role is a basic salary of up to £32,000 DOE plus bonus, hybrid working, plus much more!
