Warrington Council is poised to embark on an ambitious build programme that will materially enhance the range of specialist accommodation it provides, in order to better meet the needs of the local population. Our existing portfolio of nearly 100 homes, which are used to accommodate a range of needs from homelessness to supported living, is set to undergo an extensive programme of improvements to ensure the properties remain fit-for-purpose. In addition, we continue to support the work of the Local Housing Company, Incrementum, in developing high quality rented accommodation across the Borough.

The houses that we own and that we will soon create all need to be managed effectively. Accordingly, we have identified the need for a Housing Assets Manager. Working within the Council’s Housing Team, the Housing Assets Manager will be responsible for overseeing all matters relating to the maintenance and improvement of our housing stock.

Liaising closely with other disciplines across the Council, including colleagues in Adult Care Services, along with external maintenance and management companies, the selected candidate will co-ordinate the management and, where appropriate, adaptation or improvement of the Council’s and the Local Housing Company’s existing and planned residential assets, in order to ensure that the homes respond to the changing needs of the Borough and are fully compliant with legislation.

Reporting to the Head of Housing, the successful candidate will ideally have over ten years experience in a property-related discipline, including property management, and will have a working knowledge of funding sources available to Local Authorities for building improvement works. You will need to be able to work as part of a larger, multidisciplinary team to deliver exciting projects that will have positive impacts on the lives of residents. In exchange, we offer a competitive salary, access to the local government pension scheme and flexible working arrangements.
