JLL showcases Manchester office fit-out

The property consultant has revealed the first CGIs of its upcoming Manchester office ahead of its move to Landmark next year.

Working with its subsidiary Tetris Design & Build, JLL will begin fitting out its office in November 2019 with the team scheduled to relocate from One Piccadilly in the first quarter of next year.

JLL has signed a 15-year lease for 14,000 sq ft and will move 170 staff to the 10th floor.

The company’s real estate and workplace director Andrew O’Donnell said the office would serve as a blueprint for future JLL workplaces around the UK.

“Our new north west office is actually setting out our new workplace standard for all our other UK offices with this move – we’re going to trial a completely new way of working to inform our national plans and future office changes”, he said.

“We want to create a versatile, contemporary office space which can accommodate a modern-day workforce – something we can’t do at our current place.”

Desk space at the Landmark office will be less than 50% of the total area, compared with traditional offices which can have 80% desk space or more. The office is also targeting a 20% energy use reduction target, compared with JLL’s current hom.

The 180,000 sq ft, 14-storey office is being built by contractor Bowmer + Kirkland for Barings Real Estate. JLL is the only confirmed tenant so far; CBRE and Colliers International are the joint agents.

@Amused – funnily enough, if you’re going to have a green wall, it will be green in colour…
